The Role
As an Accounting & Finance Associate , you will play a crucial role in our financial reporting processes. You will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate financial data & compliance. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with exceptional accounting knowledge & Excel skills and a passion for working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage & support the full month-end close process
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Manage revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain general ledger integrity and supporting schedules
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
VAT handling & reporting
Support preparation of financial statements
Assist Director of Finance with Audit, R&D credits & communication with external consultants.
Build and maintain Excel-based financial models to support budgeting, analysis & forecasting with the Director of Finance
Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Auditor certification is a plus.
5+ years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AI
Experience with accounting softwares (e.g., Light or similar).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze financial information clearly and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a startup environment, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities.
Familiarity with multi-entity accounting, including intercompany reconciliations and consolidations.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements, good to have US, UK knowledge.
